Sonoma County Roots,
Sonoma County Wines (mostly)
We at Jus Soli like roots. Roots music. The book and miniseries. The root language. Even root vegetables. But most of all we draw inspiration from our shared Sonoma County roots. Jus Soli – wines and people with a distinct sense of place.
Current Releases
Our first white is from Handley’s Dry Creek vineyard. Balanced on the palate with a nice interplay of ripe texture and bright acidity leading to a long refreshing finish. The finish is so long that it may outlast our supply.
Complex in the mouth showing black fruits, plum, raspberry, chocolate and grilled meat notes. Lots of wonderful cracked pepper as well. A very balanced, fairly restrained Zin that will complement a wide range of dishes. Perfect alongside the grill this summer.
Watermelon, strawberry and cranberry aromas and flavors with pleasantly full mouthfeel framed by delicate acidity. A delicious summer quaffer best with a light chill.
Our first vineyard-designated wine is from the high elevation Madder Lake Vineyard in Lake County. Plush in the mouth, showing raspberry, chocolate, cracked pepper, herb and mineral notes. Very long and complex with subtle tannins and great balance. Disclaimer: Not from our home county. Rules were made to be broken.
Gold Medal Winner at 2007 Sonoma County Harvest Fair in Rhone Type Red Blend Category. Exact recipe is a closely guarded company secret but we can tell you that it combines our favorite characteristics of Syrah, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. It all comes together to create a wine that’s smooth, rich and delicious.
Gold Medal Winner at 2007 Sonoma County Harvest Fair. Rich sexy nose, rich and dense in the mouth, long rich finish. Did we mention that it is rich? Shines with pasta and roasted meats. Add drink more Syrah to your checklist of things to do in 2008.

"I gave a bottle of your 03 Zinfandel to one of my friends for her birthday, and while drinking it with her husband, he commented with each sip on how amazing the wine was. I think it translated to more attention for the wine than the wife!"
